Making garlic butter sauce is quite easy if you’ve the right ingredients. After making this recipe, make sure to keep a bottle of butter sauce in my fridge at all times.
STEP 1: Get the Ingredients
The first thing you’ll need is some butter. In this case, you can use unsalted butter, which was the most expensive option, but we highly recommend that you use salted butter instead.
Next, you’ll need garlic. In this case, I used two heads worth of garlic cloves. To make sure you have enough, first peel the garlic, then slice it crosswise and chopped it in half.
STEP 2: Add the Ingredients
Once you’ve got your ingredients ready, it’s time to start making the sauce. First, add the garlic to the bowl of a food processor. Then add the butter, salt, and pepper.
If you don’t have a food processor, you can also finely chop the garlic by hand.
The final ingredient you’ll need is hot water. While this isn’t absolutely necessary, we added it for flavor. You can also add a splash of milk, but we wouldn’t recommend it.
STEP 3: Process Until Smooth
Processing the garlic and butter in the food processor until they’re smooth is the key to getting the consistency you want for the sauce.
As you process, you’ll notice that the garlic might start to separate into individual cloves. This is normal, but if you want the sauce to be super smooth, just stop processing when it starts to look like this. Now that you’ve got the butter sauce ready, all you need to do is pour it over whatever you’re serving and enjoy!
